This beautiful print was privately commissioned by TNT airlines to celebrate the successful introduction of the BAe146 Quiet Trader into the Global Express international air freight business. BAe identified a market niche for its quiet 146 as a dedicated freighter capable of accommodating standard pallets and fitted with a large door aft of the wing. Many cargo aircraft were typically conversions of elderly types and prone to be noisy, causing problems for airports as many of their flights were during the night. The 146QT had a permanent freight floor and most of the windows removed.
Aviation enthusiasts expected that the aircraft would just gracefully fade away like many other types, but this is not the case. Even though the last example was completed 18 years ago, the type is still in demand as an airliner, freighter and for many other roles.
