Details

The ultimate, high-performance Canberra variant powering into the air with black smoke pouring from its powerful Rolls Royce Avon 206 turbojets.

The artist flew Canberra PR9 aircraft in the low level tactical role as well as in the ultra-high level strategic reconnaissance role during four years with Number 39 Squadron at RAF Wyton. His intimate knowledge of the aircraft and its performance are evident in this fine study of a PR9 under full power. Underrated for many years as a strategic recce asset, the Canberra PR9 was to prove its exceptional value at the end of its career in the skies over Afghanistan where its suite of high resolution cameras and electro-optical sensors were unrivalled.

We have now released 25 Publisher Proofs and 10 Canvas Prints to complete the edition. Printed on heavy cotton paper stock using the latest high-definition giclée press, each publisher proof copy is individually signed and numbered.  For something really special, pencil remarque drawings can be added to the print border featuring any Canberra squadron aircraft and badge.
